Lola Doe is a Philadelphia based artist who looks to reveal deep connections within the facets of human experience. After pursuing a BFA in Illustration at the University of the Arts, it became clear that their eye for maths and the complexity sciences strongly inform their artistic pursuits. Soon after, they chose to reignite their intellectual passions by enrolling at their Alma Mater for a Master’s Degree in Studio Arts. This free-form, theory based program opened them up to folding in new themes of spirituality and growth to both their visual and social arts practice. They were awarded the Richard and Patricia Henkels Award in 2019 and, since then, have matriculated with their MFA in Studio Arts in May 2021. Their teaching career informs the way they make work as well as their interest in collaboration and an ever broadening interest in large scale installation and interactivity. They have shown most extensively at the Rosenwald-Wolf gallery in Philadelphia but have also shown at Grizzly Grizzly Gallery as well as participated in a Residency at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden in Solomon Maryland which resulted in an extended outdoor installation. They are currently looking to find new opportunities and expand past their previous artistic limits.
